This is originally for (and from) RasterOps. As I have a RO color board and it works for my system, I can only speculate on whether it works for other boards, incl Apple. It looks like it might (I'm presently running the std Monitors cdev 7.0). If you have such a board (esp Apple) and it works for you too, the "RO/" should be taken off the name and please upload it to the BBS again, so others will be more likely to try it too. If not, sorry you "wasted your time" on this one, but that's how we find things out! I do the same thing, and such a "policy" (of just trying things) yields much, much more from your computer. So congratulations for wasting your time on this one.
